**District Judge J. Campbell Barker** was appointed to the Eastern District of Texas by President Donald Trump in 2019. He was nominated on January 23, 2019, confirmed by the Senate on May 1, 2019, and received his commission on May 3, 2019. He was born in 1980 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Before his appointment, Judge Barker served as Deputy Solicitor General for the State of Texas from 2015 to 2019. He also engaged in private legal practice in Texas from 2011 to 2015, and earlier served as a Trial Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice from 2007 to 2011.
