Senior Judge James L. Robart's rules set a pre-motion procedure for covered motions. Before filing a motion to seal, the filing party must make a good-faith effort to meet and confer with the party that produced the confidential document.
Judge Jamal N. Whitehead's rules set a pre-motion procedure for discovery. Before filing a discovery motion, parties must meet and confer in good faith and exhaust reasonable alternatives, including affirmative suggestions and compromise aimed at resolving the dispute without court involvement.
Magistrate Judge Theresa L. Fricke's rules set a pre-motion procedure for covered motions. A later noting date that would push a deadline beyond the scheduling order or another court deadline requires a court order.
